Oden Takes Home Hardware for Holiday Video
Memphis, TN | 18 April 2018 —Oden’s annual holiday video always gives us a chance to slow down, reflect on the year, and contribute to a meaningful cause.
The events of 2017 prompted us to take a slightly different direction from past videos. We wanted to assist people affected by the year’s hurricanes, so we made a donation to the Salvation Army. Our video concept involved contrasting the names of the disasters with the determined, inspiring faces of victims who share those names.
The approach was simple. Stark, intimate portraits were superimposed with the names of devastating storms—Maria, Harvey, Irma—evoking a strong sense of empathy and authenticity, giving faces to the statistics.
We’re proud to say the video has been recognized by the prestigious ADDY Awards with two local ADDYs: a gold in the Sales & Marketing–Advertising Industry Self-Promotion category, and a silver in the Film, Video, & Sound–Branded Content/Single category. And we’ve recently learned that the video will be awarded the Southeast Regional silver ADDY.
These awards are meaningful, but the real reward was the chance to use our creative talents in the name of Hope. And Joy, and Victor. See what we mean here.
