The Levitt Shell is a treasured jewel in the city of Memphis. Its newly restored outdoor amphitheater attracts thousands of visitors annually who enjoy over 60 nights of programmed entertainment—100% free.
In 2016, The Levitt Shell team asked Oden to join them in rebranding the overall experience that is the Shell. It’s more than just the music. It’s the food, the outdoors. It’s cuddling up on a quilt to see world-renowned musicians on the stage where Elvis played his first paid gig. The Shell is one big backyard for Memphis.
Through a small series of illustrations we brought this concept to life. Whimsically blending food and music, manipulating proportions, and creating subtle optical illusions, we aimed to capture the attention of every child who comes in contact with Shell media—no matter their age.
